He is set to star in the upcoming OTT film Amar Singh Chamkila alongside Parineeti Chopra, showcasing his growing versatility as an actor. However, there was a time when Diljit was supposed to collaborate with Parineeti's sister, Priyanka Chopra, in a movie. In a conversation with Connect FM Canada, filmmaker Boney Kapoor revealed that Priyanka and Diljit were initially set to star in a film titled Sardarni. However, the movie fell through as Priyanka's career took her to Hollywood around that time. She had just begun working on the popular TV series Quantico and soon became an international sensation. With her success in Hollywood and the series being renewed for another season, Priyanka decided to focus on her career in the United States, leading to the movie being shelved. It would have been intriguing to see the dynamic pairing of Diljit and Priyanka on screen, given their individual talent and charisma. However, the timing didn't work out for the project to come to fruition. Similarly, reports suggest that the late actress Sridevi was a fan of Amar Singh Chamkila and even expressed interest in starring in a Punjabi film with him. Unfortunately, this collaboration also did not happen due to Chamkila's reluctance to work in films.
Now, as Diljit and Parineeti star in Amar Singh Chamkila under the direction of Imtiaz Ali, fans are eager to see how the film unfolds on Netflix starting today.
